  This is a old crater of nearly 2000 years old, diameter approximately 220 mts and depth of nearly 120 mts. Very excellent view from the top of the view deck that is built that goes nearly 10 mts over the top open space of the crater. From the car park, you should walk on rough rocks and earth, and i recommend those going to be fit to walk. You should also be cautious not to go to the border of the crater other than the provided public space.. It is just an unique experience..

  Ancien cratère (2000 ans) vertigineux. 120 m de profondeur, 200 m de diamètre, le petit promontoire permet de voir le fond, il serait imprudent d'essayer des bords. En le longeant et en restant prudent on peut voir le début de la rivière des Remparts.

  superbe, un milieu lunaire,regrets trop fréquenté y compris dans les airs (hélicos très bruyants). Le silence donnerai sa vrai dimension au site

  Rando magnifique! Prévoir de quoi se protéger à la fois du soleil et de la pluie car le temps change rapidement. Attention car chemin abrasif

  Ce lieu volcanique statique est magnifique! Je vous conseille vivement si vous avez le cœur bien accroché de vous approcher de ce gouffre extraordinaire situé non loin du piton de la fournaise même s’il est désormais éteint.. lieu incontournable
