::This hotel is definitely not 5 star as advertised. The place is in real need of refurbishment and cleaning. Room 140 - was filthy, walls and doors have not been cleaned in months, ventilation in toilet does not work. Good size bed and nice view. Located beside a big lagoon but the beach is small sharp coral. Great pool area for families. Nice bar and Orangerie restaurant but quite expensive. There are some nice places for eating within easy walking distance. We would not stay here again.

::Hotel looks nice on first sight. Nice overall area, but far far away from a 5 star hotel. Waited a while before rating to see if I think different but still somewhat upset when I think about it. Here is why: - Reception speaks english but otherwise you are totally lost if you dont speak french. Each day something nice is offered. Today a presentation and talk on marine research, but only in french. tomorrow a rum tasting, but only in french. The day after something joga, only in french. - Room was is an extremely poor condition. Mold, spiderwebs, water leakage. Asked for a new room and got a better one, but it was still not in a condition close to a 5 star hotel room - We were asked to download an app to be used in the hotel that had opening times for the restaurants and the menues. However, it did not match with reality. - gym in extreme poor condition. mix of differen brands of equipment, some broken, some half broken. Didnt not how to turn on the rowing machine. Asked the lady in the gym how to switch it on. She just looked at me and walked away. - Cleaning personel phones us in the room to ask when they could come. When I answered in english they just hang up the phone - We ordered Veg food take away instead of breakfast as we were heading out for a tour to a vulcano. Said we could pick it up at 5. When we arrived at the reception, noone was there. 15 min later someone came, said he had to get it from the kitchen. Was clear they had forgotten it as other food was standing next to the reception for take-away. When the person returned we asked if it was vegetarian. ANswer was yes. We started our 6 hours hike, to a vulkano. At the top, whe we opened the food box, all sandwiches were with meat. - At the buffet, not all food was labeled. So we had to ask every time what was vegetarian. Once they had dumplings, after asking one service person and the chef they said its vegetarian. After I came back to refil there was a new sign saying its chicken dumplings. When I asked the service, they said it was with chicken but had forgotten it was with meat. Overall great potential for the hotel but way too many negative experiences where neither service nor cleanliness/room standard was close to a 5 start hotel.

::The location is lovely with an active coral reef 'on the doorstep'. Service was impeccable, food was delicious and the communal areas, well maintained. An excellent hotel pool too. On the downside, it's expensive and the rooms were not up to 5 star standard...more attention to details and this could be a favourite.

::We had lunch and dinner at the "La Plage" restaurant. Excellent meals with several vegan choices. Also the service is good, casual and friendly. There are very little places that offer vegan food on the island. The restaurants of the LUX hotel do offer excellent vegan food. Highly recommended.

::We spent 2 days there during our honeymoon. Our room was nice and quiet, the bathroom should have been larger though. In regards to food, both the breakfast and buffet dinner (+45€/p.P.) were good. The overall price niveau though (bar etc) is quite high (e.g. 3 scoops of ice cream 12€). We also had some issues in communicating with restaurant staff, as the knowledge of the English language is not common. Nevertheless, we spent 2 very relaxing days in the hotel and can recommend staying there.
