::Beautiful hotel, nice rooms (The style is for my taste a bit old fashioned), super beds, very good breakfast, polite service and good located in Cilaos, because it’s not at the main street. Minus: very weak WiFi. I can’t understand why it’s so difficult to set up some WiFi-repeater.

::We spent two nights at the Le Vieux Cep and felt very comfortable. The rooms were big enough to spread out. The ladies at the reception were super friendly. We were allowed to use the spa area as the hot water was out in some rooms. Breakfast was very good. You can make fresh squeezed orange juice. However, no vegan alternatives of butter and milk (because milk allergy). I would have expected that in a tourist hotel.

::The place has a great location. I may have been disappointed by the services. When we arrived spa has out of services. The room on ground floor wasn’t really nice, no sunlight and too close from corridor which allow us very little privacy. The strict time for breakfast or must book a way in advance diner at the hotel restaurant (there is a lot of other greater option in town) are really discouraging and against what I expect from a vacation stay. Didn’t feel a relaxing spirit there and found the staff quiet disorganized. Definitely not at the standing I was expecting. On the positive side on top of the location, the pool is warm and nice and there is a gym. It may have been just a bad timing but would not go back.

::We stayed for 7 nights here on our honeymoon. Our room was big enough, with a small balcony. The view was amazing, in clear weather we could see the Piton des Neiges. The hotel has a small heated pool, a Jacuzzi and a fitness room, all can be used by guests for free. The breakfasts/dinners were also good. Highly recommend this place!

::Mind, I haven't been recently. But Le Vieux Cep is probably still a three or four star hotel. The restaurant is top of the line Creole food. The toilets are larger than life in most parts of the Northern Hemisphere. The views are incredible. Some of the world's best hiking trails are near by and the ski village like centre of urban Cilaos is at most a five minute walk.
